Chilapata Homestay is a resort and homestay located in close vicinity of Chilapata forest. Luxury and wilderness of a forest resort entwined with warm hospitality of a homestay, this resort has always been successful, since its inception, in creating a special place in everyone's heart. With Bania River and Kalchini River in its east, Mathura tea garden in its west, a small tribal village in its south, and a glimpse of dense Chilapata forest in its north, this is a paradise for nature lovers!
The resort has 18 aesthetic luxury rooms. All the rooms are air-conditioned with bathrooms that are equipped with large geysers, western toilet and wash basin. There is a television with satellite connection, and intercom in every room. The resort has a Diesel Generator set that allows you to use both A.C. and geyser even during power cut (a facility which no other resort in Chilapata provides). For the safety of our guests, the entire unit is kept under 24-hour CCTV surveillance.
We very well understand that along with luxurious accommodation, our guests also need to satisfy their taste buds during the trip. So when it comes to food, we at Chilapata Homestay, make no compromise. The resort boasts of an air-conditioned multi-cuisine restaurant, that offers freshly-prepared, hot and tasty dishes (both veg. and non-veg.) from bed tea to dinner.
Owing to its excellent location and closeness to dense Chilapata forest, you might as well be lucky to spot wild Asiatic elephants and deer from the resort at night, when they come to eat rice from the paddy fields nearby. From October to February, there is high chance to spot peacocks at a stone's throw distance from the resort.
A home away from home - For those wondering why this resort calls itself a homestay, is because, at Chilalata Homestay, you're not just our guest but family. Unparalleled hospitality is our trademark and top most priority. The host, Mr. Satyajit Roy, is always ready to go the extra mile to ensure all your wishes are fulfilled during the stay. A man who loves the place and understands the local culture of Chilapata. The homestay is his home where he lives throughout the year. To ensure your tour is hassle free, he takes responsibility to arrange for your Chilapata forest jeep safari. You do not have to go to Chilapata forest range office for booking reservations. Forest Gypsys come and pick you up from the homestay itself. Our guests are taken for a tea tour in the Mathura tea estate if they want to. On request, tribal dance performances are also arranged within the homestay premises, so that you enjoy and witness an authentic interaction with the local people and their culture.
Chilapata Homestay has another unit named Bania River Retreat. You can consider Chilapata Homestay & Bania River Retreat together, as one single resort, present within the same periphery, sharing the same multi-cuisine restaurant and offering the exact same facilities.
We have till date, received amazing feedback from our visitors on both Tripadvisor and Google. We have our own vision and dedication to promote Chilapata to make it one of the best wildlife destinations in Dooars.
